چکیده

We calculate the tunneling conductance in the framework of the spin polaron model, which is an effective model for the t−J model, in the limit where at least short-range antiferromagnetic correlations exist. We show that both in the normal state and in the superconducting state the asymmetry of tunneling conductance is present. This fact is the implication of the particle–hole asymmetry of the spin polaron Hamiltonian in the limit of low density of spin polarons which are quasiparticles emerging in a hole doped antiferromagnet. Experimental evidence of analogous asymmetric tunneling conductance was found in the tunneling spectroscopy measurements of high Tc superconductors.

Effect of asymmetric quantum dot rings in electron transport through a quantum wire

The electronic conductance at zero temperature through a quantum wire with side-connected asymmetric quantum ring (as a scatter system) is theoretically studied using the non-interacting Hamiltonian Anderson tunneling method. In this paper we concentrate on the configuration of the quantum dot rings. We show that the asymmetric structure of QD-scatter system strongly influences the amplitude an...

D ec 1 99 2 Spin Tunneling , Berry phases and Doped Antiferromagnets

Interference effects between Berry phase factors in spin tunneling systems have been discussed in recent Letters by Loss, DiVincenzo and Grinstein (LDG) [1] and von Delft and Henley (vDH) [2]. As physical realizations, LDG proposed tunneling of magnetic clusters, and vDH proposed an anisotropic spin hamiltonian and the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the Kagomé lattice. In these examples, for cer...

Charge-ordered resonating valence bond states in doped cuprates

We study charge ordered d-wave resonating valence bond states sdRVBd in the doped cuprates, and estimate the energies of these states in a generalized t-J model by using a renormalized mean-field theory. The longrange Coulomb potential tends to modulate the charge density in favor of the charge ordered RVB state. The possible relevance to the recently observed 434 checkerboard patterns in tunne...

Modeling of Tunneling Spectroscopy in High - T c Superconductors , Incorporating Band Structure , Gap Symmetry , Group Velocity , and Tunneling Directionality

A theoretical model for tunneling spectroscopy employing tight-binding band structure, dx2−y2 gap symmetry, group velocity, and tunneling directionality is studied. This is done to investigate if the model can exhibit the same wide range of characteristics observed in tunneling experiments on high-Tc superconductors. A band structure specific to optimallydoped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (BSCCO) is used to c...
